My name is Richard “Rick” Chavez, CFEI-CVFI. I’m a retired New Mexico State Police Supervisor who brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned law enforcement investigator. With a proactive approach, I have achieved success in various criminal investigations and civil cases. My highest level of experience is that of fire investigations coupled with my degree in criminal justice. Throughout my 36-year career in public safety, I’ve been the lead investigator in over 400 fire cases and also been the lead investigator in over 100 fire deaths. I supervised multiple agents and assisted in the re-organization of state offices. Communication is very important, especially in today’s world. I was a radio broadcaster for multiple radio stations, and it is important to express important details accurately, tactfully and respectfully.
